I would be helpful to know who is being honored/memorialized by a donation. This would help me understand/map relationships between people in my CRM system. It has also been suggested by donors that their thank you letters mention the gift was made in someone's honor and that we notify the honoree by snail mail (some donors are older and do not use email)

Also having that info included in the admin notification email so that the processor can act on that info right away instead of waiting to export a report.

We now have a Dedication UI that allows donors to indicate that a gift is in honor or memory of an individual. They can also send an optional email to someone notifying them of the dedication.
The Name of the Dedicatee and the Type of Dedication (In Honor of/In Memory of) are available in your main dashboard/csv exports.
I recommend submitting new posts around additional desires for dedications!

Matt Connelly: Thanks so much, Matt. This is fantastic! And already showing up in reports. Would be great to include an optional field where donors could write a short message to the person they want to notify. Not sure if that's worth a new post but wanted to share here. Appreciate all of your work.

Matt Connelly: It would be great if in the GiveLively report, we could see if someone included the email field or not. If they did not, we will need to reach out and let the honorary know, but if the email field is supplied, we would not. Good info for us to know as an org!

In our organization, we post the memorial/honoree name in addition to the donor name (not the $) in our monthly newsletter (unless they request otherwise.) Our long-time donors have come to expect this and will be disappointed if we are unable to do so. Thanks!

For my organization, we have specific recognition steps for gifts made in honor or memory of specific individuals—we really need Give Lively engineering support on making sure this data gets captured in a way that WE the organization can see!
Many of our donors are long-time relationships, too, where they won't be interested in small token as the honoree system.

Jacqueline Salzinger: +1 Jacqueline - add a non-Small Token option for honor/memorial donations

Sammy Vo: Share with whom? Would this be a sync to Salesforce
Sammy Vo
Jessica Rosenberg: Hi Jessica! Hope all is well. We currently do not share the honoree information of 'in honor of' gifts due to our Privacy Policy but we've heard from multiple members that it would be useful to have. We'd also explore syncing that information to SF as well. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Jessica Rosenberg: To share with the nonprofit organization.

Sammy Vo: we have clients who need this info to sync to Salesforce. Often nonprofits send hard mailings (cards) to those who are honored so it's important for them to get this info. And they would like this stored in Salesforce.
Sammy Vo
Jessica Rosenberg: Thanks for the info! We'll take this into consideration as we explore this feature a bit further.
