Allow Required/Custom Fields

Our organization needs the ability to capture additional information from donors no matter how they give (whether directly or through a P2P page). It would be helpful if the fields we require on our giving page also transferred over to the P2P fundraisers (since it's the information the organization has already required to give).

We are excited to let you know that your suggestion has been implemented! Thank you again for collaborating directly with us to build better fundraising tech. Your suggestion was incorporated as part of this update: https://feedback.givelively.org/changelog/nonprofits-can-ask-more-custom-questions-of-donors about the ability to add custom questions to our payment forms.

Had the nonprofit United Way of Bucks County reach out about custom questions on peer fundraising pages today as well.

Good news! After reviewing all requests, we are planning to add your suggestion to our next roadmap. We do our best to stick to our predictions, but we receive a lot of requests, so there may be unforeseen delays. In the meantime, happy fundraising! You’ll receive email updates about the status of your post. We encourage you to return and vote on others to show your support of additional suggestions. To stay up to date on completed fixes and improvements, as well as new functionality, see our Changelog at givelively.canny.io/changelog.

One of our staff noticed that once you enable the custom question, it becomes a "require question" that donors MUST fill out something in the field of in order to continue. Is there a way to make it optional? Not all donors have special requests for honoring, in our use case...

Need for custom fields in check-out

It is essential for my organization to be able to capture custom data (as in Additional Questions for the core campaign) during P2P check-out. I cannot use this as a fundraising platform without giving donors the ability to alert our team to honor/"in memory" donations.

If you would like your P2P pages to inherit custom questions from their parent campaign pages, please reach out to support@givelively.org to enable this beta.

Nicole Alter: Can this be implemented on my P2P campaign as well? I contacted support and they said that it was only available on the main campaign page.
Nicole Alter
Jacqueline Salzinger I can enable a beta that will allow your P2P pages to inherit the custom question of the parent campaign.

Nicole Alter: Yes please! With the mailing address question if possible, too.

Jacqueline Salzinger this is done.

Beyond just the question of P2P showing this, my org would greatly benefit from being able to ask more than one custom question.

Hi Jenny, I've gone ahead and added a beta feature which should allow your P2P pages to inherit custom questions from their parent campaign pages. Could you take a look at your pages and reports and confirm that you're seeing this update now. Thanks!

Nicole Alter: Hi Nicole! I don't see the feature. I looked at this page which was our most recent fundraiser: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/stanly-community-christian-ministry-inc/jenny-clore
Unfortunately, this fundraiser has passed and I missed capturing the donor's addresses. :(
Nicole Alter
Jenny Clore: I'm sorry to hear that the fundraiser passed. Please understand that our Custom Fields feature is still in Beta and not a fully released yet. To access the custom questions beta feature, you can navigate to the core profile/campaign and click the "additional questions" section to add custom fields. Feel free reach out to membership@givelively.org if you have a questions or requests in the future.
