Enable "team" leaders to communicate with team
I'd like to send direct messages to my team to keep them encouraged, give them updates, etc. Also, as the nonprofit admin, I'd like to be able to communicate with all teams (leaders and participants) associated with a campaign. It could be as simple as having their email address. Currently, if someone chooses to fundraise for me, I have no way of thanking them unless they also donate.
Enable admin to reallocate donations
If a donor decides that they want to donate to a person and not the entire team, it would be great if the admin could reallocate the donation so it shows up on the intended page
Add names of offline donors to P2P pages
We frequently have donors give to P2P fundraisers through donor advised funds, checks and stocks but cannot add their names to the public donor list on these pages. Admins should be able to manually add and properly recognize these donations on the P2P pages. It's discouraging for someone to give $ and ask to be added to this page only to be told we can't do that. Seems like a missed opportunity for a donation platform.
Allow fundraisers to download list of their donors
Allow Required/Custom Fields
Our organization needs the ability to capture additional information from donors no matter how they give (whether directly or through a P2P page). It would be helpful if the fields we require on our giving page also transferred over to the P2P fundraisers (since it's the information the organization has already required to give).
Fundraiser's Account info
Looking to get the name/email of the information of who created the p2p fundraiser.
Allow admin/fundraisers to download list of donors
I get requests all the time from my P2P creators to see who has donated to their platform, so they can thank them. It would be great to let the P2P creators download the list themselves, which I see is already a feature request, but as an admin, I can not even download the list of donors... I have to go to Stripe and do a search for that specific P2P page and hope that no donations got missed, then filter out all of the extra information and create a "clean" version to give to the P2P creator. Very, very time consuming.
First of all, I think the widget looks great. But it had a few problems for us. You can take a peek at how we used it, the campaign widget we used is still up. https://www.swim4life.org/swim-for-life-2020 . We would remove the general donation form from the widget, if we could, and then move the list of fundraisers to that position. The widget was way too long. We would hide the fundraiser signup button since we don't want anyone to sign up without registering. We had the registration link on top of the page where the article about the swim is displaying now. We had maybe ten participants who didn't bother and went right to this link. If you go to a swimmers page through the widget on our website, it is not clear you are on the swimmer page because the swimmers customizations and donors fall to the bottom of the page below the list of other fundraisers. Better to leave the other fundraisers off it all together, IMHO, so the fundraiser whose page it is, gets all the attention. The login link pops open at the top of the widget which is totally hidden in this case so it feels like a dead link. I had participants tell me that they couldn't get back to their page, but I suspect that they missed the login pop-up because it had been hidden from view.
UI for P2P fundraisers
Top of my wish list is an integration within the form function of LGL that signs a registrant up for a GL P2P page without leaving the registration form, so the creation of the fundraiser page is completely seamless and invisible to the registrant. Is that technically possible? One submit button rules them all? I had many swimmers who were confused by the registration process. Most of them filled out my form, but some went right to the GL fundraiser button bypassing our registration form so I had no data for them. I had participants who could not figure out how to get back to their pages once they made them (more on that below). A direct link, a portal link, to login to the fundraisers P2P page, independent of the campaign widget, that could be positioned on our home page would be clear and welcoming. I had many requests for donor lists. Apparently there is no way for the owner of a P2P page to see all their donors? That seems odd. I don't think there is a way for the page owner to add offline donations, either. I did figure out how to add offline donations to a swimmer page myself, but as per above, there's no search so I had to scroll though many pages to find it first.
We participated in beta testing the Team option in GL. Since we have always had teams, this was a nice option and I was glad to take advantage of it even though I have a schizoid attitude towards teams. On the one hand they are a powerful way to get people engaged who wouldn't go for it on their own, on the other hand they have been a, if not a nightmare, at least a bad dream, from the management point of view. Many of our participants simply don't understand the difference between individual vs team participation. Individuals sign up as teams and teams sign up as individuals and no one really understands the relationship. The problem becomes an issue when we acknowledge top fundraisers in a ceremony after the event. I wonder if it could be disambiguated by creating an either/or option: either the team pools all donations, or they collect them as individuals. Never both. Certainly there should be a global option to turn off general donations to a team.
