Two security-centered refinements have been added to the
email address confirmation protocols
we started rolling out in June.
  • The email address confirmation link must be used within seven days of when the initial email address confirmation request is sent. After seven days, that link expires and the process must begin again. Any attempt to use the link after it expires will bring up an error message making this clear.
  • The email address itself is held in the Give Lively system for those seven days. This protects against parallel attempts to create an account using that same email address. This applies to both new accounts and changed email addresses on existing accounts.
Some automatic email receipts sent to new donors now link to the
Set password
page.
This is the case for new donors who give on Core Profiles and Campaign Pages. A line reminding users that “to access [user account] you must set a password by clicking the link below” no longer points to the
Log in
page, but to the
Set password
page, making it easier to proceed. Learn how to customize donation thank-you messages for your Core Profile and Campaign Pages.
The
HELP
section of the User Portal points to our recently updated support resources.
These resources were relaunched in September to make it easier for all Give Lively users — member nonprofits as well as non-member nonprofits, fundraisers and donors — to find information and tools. Learn what and where the User Portal is and check out our Resource Center.
User Portal Help
Ongoing routine code review has led to optimizations on Peer-to-Peer Fundraising pages.
This has improved the speed of creating and editing these pages. Learn how to set up and use Peer-to-Peer Fundraising and how users build an individual Peer-to-Peer Fundraising page.
The custom amount field and Google Pay image on our donation forms can now be interpreted by screen readers.
This is part of our ongoing efforts to comply with both Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and to further refine the user experience.
